Lead IT Developer - Private Banking

The IT Developer is expected to cover and support a wide range of business initiatives to develop IT infrastructure for the Tokyo office. The role demands in particular:

• The development and enhancement of key operational systems, primarily internally developed but also external applications. This will involve close collaboration with internal colleagues (in Japan and overseas) and with external partners.

• The ability to grasp user needs and then translate these needs into an effective IT solution (note that users will be any party that requires a technological solution be it Front Office, Risk or Support).

• Deploying specific technical skills to take an application from concept through to testing and deployment.

• Providing high quality user experience and support.

• Contributing to and implementing the strategic plan to ensure the IT infrastructure, both internally developed and external driven, follows an agreed growth plan.

Requirements:

• At least 3+ years of experience in relevant IT areas ideally gained within the financial services industry in Japan.

• IT skills required:

  • SQL

  • Java

  • C#

  • Javascript

• Strong understanding of MS SQL Server, Windows Server IIS, JMS/IBM MQ messaging and testing automation software, ex. Cypress, Fitnesse, TOSCA

• Experience within the trust business (i.e. with Trust Bank or Trust Company) highly valued.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in Japanese (fluent/high business standard) and English (high business standard).

• Proven skills to work collaboratively across functions under global working environment.

• Comfortable to work in a small but fast-growing office environment.
